Manish Arora - Fall 2008 - Wills India Fashion Week

Battling Disneyland and Star Wars – The empire strikes back!!!

Manish Arora presented an army of fantasy warriors which were materialising from under a masqued gate and then slowly marching down the silver crusted ramp towards a stunned audience in jam packed hall.

The imaginative armours took inspiration from all cultures across the globe and centuries such as Japanese Samurais, European medieval knights and other military attires.

J J Valaya Master of his kingdom - Fall 2008 Wills India Fashion Week

The man and master of his kingdom J J Valaya is determined to make a mark with each new collection that is unveiled from the House Of Valaya.

The cleanly constructed, superb clothes were tailored to perfection in fabrics like cotton velvet, lycra linen, lycra georgette, lycra… Continue

Instead, the newcomer was thinking “Wow, did I just walk that?”

And while editors, journalists and photographers were waiting, the mood was surprisingly calm backstage. No models… Continue

Tarun Tahiliani - Fall 2008 - Wills India Fashion Week

Glamour, style and certainly showmanship in true Tahiliani fashion is what best describe his collection. A well spaced out collection between showcasing his Indian sensibilities to the hilt and celebrating the spirit of freedom of his personal expression, Tarun Tahiliani brought drama to the ramp.

The silhouettes in the collection were voluminous, magical and almost danced with the music while the models sashayed down the ramp to perfectly exhibit the garments. Jackets and… Continue

Gauri & Nainika Fall 2008

Gauri & Nainika offered us a look inspired by the chic that could be found in Paris after the WWII when the Grand Couturiers made women’s dreams come true again.

The collection comprised essentially feminine dresses in body curve enhancing dramatic silhouettes. The designers showed slim-fitted pencil cocktail dresses and flowing evening gowns with eclectic folds, subtle drapes and sensual layering of fabrics.

The waist was generally narrow and contrasted… Continue
